Anne Bastian, General Manager - Human Resources
Anne has been responsible for growing Liberty’s diverse, high quality team from the company’s early days. She is also responsible for the design, implementation and management of all HR policies and procedures. Prior to joining Liberty, Anne held the position of Group Human Resources Manager for Infosentials. She has provided similar expertise to Vectus and LibertyOne and has worked as a HR Consultant for ANZ Bank and Esanda Finance. She has a Bachelor of Business from Victoria University of Technology, Australia.
James Boyle, General Manager - Australian Residential Mortgages & COO
James is responsible for Liberty’s Australian residential mortgage business and its corporate strategy. He joined the team from State Street Corporation where he held the position of Vice President in the Zurich branch. In this role he was responsible for product development, business feasibility and operational direction. James has an MBA from INSEAD Graduate Business School in France, a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University, Australia, and a Bachelor of Business from the Australian Catholic University, Australia.
Sue de Broglio, General Manager - Group Risk
Sue is responsible for setting the strategic direction for Liberty’s Group Risk function. She has developed a framework covering identification, monitoring, measurement and reporting on credit, operational and market risks for existing and new business. She has over 12 years’ experience in senior risk, compliance, strategy and business management roles in financial institutions in South Africa and Australia, most recently with Macquarie Bank. She was also the Deputy Chairman of the reverse mortgage industry body SEQUAL and was one of South Africa’s youngest appointments to the magisterial bench before moving into finance.
Lynne Jordan, General Manager – Assured Credit Management
Lynne oversees Liberty’s Assured Credit Management (ACM) team, responsible for Customer Service and Account Management. Prior to joining Liberty, Lynne worked with Ford Credit for over 20 years in Australia and internationally. Her most recent positions were Ford Group Treasurer, Australia and New Zealand, and Director of Operations, Ford Credit Australia. Lynne has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland.
Winston Nesfield, General Manager - Business Finance
Winston leads Liberty's Business Finance team, which provides working capital solutions for businesses within the small to medium and mid-tier enterprise markets. With extensive experience in the wholesale and retail financial services sector, Winston has held senior management roles at several global investment banking and management consultancy firms throughout North America and Australasia including Salomon Brothers Inc, Kidder Peabody & Co, and A.T. Kearney. Winston has a Bachelor of Science and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA.
Suresh Pillai, General Manager - Group Treasury
Suresh is responsible for Liberty's funding, financial reporting and investor relations functions. He has developed Liberty’s structured finance program, including several innovative capital markets transactions such as Liberty's award winning $1.45 billion issue of mortgage backed securities in 2006. Suresh is a Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelors Degree with Honours from the University of Melbourne, Australia, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Tax Institute.
Peter Riedel, General Manager - Group Finance
Peter is responsible for Liberty’s Group Finance functions including recording of all financial transactions, monthly reporting of consolidated and business unit results, statutory results and providing value-added financial analysis. Prior to joining Liberty, Peter was a partner in the Corporate Finance team at Deloitte. Peter spent 16 years at Deloitte, including 6 years working in New York and Europe. His focus was on providing advice on mergers and acquisitions, valuations and capital raising to companies in the financial services industry. Peter holds a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University, Australia and is a Chartered Accountant.
Philip Roe, General Manager - Technology
Philip Roe is responsible for leading the development and support of our proprietary network and systems. Phil joined Liberty in October 2007 from Vanguard Investments Australia where he held the role of Principal - Information Technology, responsible for the technical infrastructure and applications used in Australia, Japan and Singapore. Prior to Vanguard, Philip had seven years at Goldman Sachs JBWere, where he had responsibility for the IT retail systems and managing product development in the retail division. Philip has also worked as an IT consultant to various marketing, manufacturing, telecommunications and financial services organisations, and lectured in project management and systems analysis at an undergraduate and post graduate level. His initial career began in the Royal Australian Air Force as an aeronautical engineer. Philip holds a BEng(Aero) and a Grad Dip Computing, and is a Member of the Australian Computer Society (MACS).
David Williams, General Manager - New Zealand
David is responsible for developing and expanding Liberty Financial’s New Zealand operations. Originally from South Africa, David joined Liberty in October 2005 with over 20 years’ experience in financial services, including 17 years with Westpac in New Zealand, where he was the Chief Operating Officer for their Corporate and Institutional Banking division. David brings a wide range of skills to this diverse role from previous experience in credit, operations, strategy and relationship management. David has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.
