Case study
Casual employment/New residents/Short term employment
Fiona and James had recently migrated from Scotland in July 2007. The couple wanted to purchase a family home, both obtaining jobs in August 2007. James was contracting full time through an employment agency and Fiona was working at a bakery on a casual basis. The couple already had a good deposit of $54,000 from the sale of their home in Scotland and were applying to get a loan for 85% of the value of the property. When Liberty received the application in September 2007 they were able to confirm their short term employment and approved the loan allowing Fiona and James to purchase a home in South East Queensland.
